Project Brief
Fabric on pattern cards, chiffon insert.
Another Christmas I know. I love Christmas. It is the time of the year when I have time to thank people for being part of my world, so I invest a lot of thought and energy just doing that: saying 'thank you'.
The Christmas cards 2012 were, exceptionally, symbolic.
The idea for these Christmas card 2012 sprung gradually in my mind.
The tree is made of thin frayed strips of a fabric representing London landmarks. The fabric is coiled to form the shape of a pine tree. I chose this fabric in a recollection of great memories from this summer, during which I volunteered as London Ambassador and in the props team at all Olympics and Paralympics ceremonies.
The card itself has a luxurious pattern similar to a crème/gold damask fabric, which represents opulence, warmth and cosiness.
Each year I try to find and inspirational quote. This year on the inside, it says: “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail”. R.W. Emerson. This echoed my mindset so well.
At the back it says: “made with a lot of love, and a little star dust…”
