Project Brief
As the art director my role was to develop, from existing concepts, creative aspects of this family entertainment centre and to oversee and direct the execution of themed elements to ensure guest experience intent and overall quality was maintained.
The FEC consists of 13 attractions, a shop, public areas and a first floor general entertainment area. These photos are just a very few examples to illustrate the scope of my work.
I directed from start to finish various members of the creative team including 10+ architects, designers and a multitude of scenic artists. The creative deliverables included physical themed props, scenic elements, high quality digital and print-ready assets.
I also acted as "vision-keeper" for the project: communicating, inspiring and maintaining project intent among all stakeholders; If required, I developed and presented additional attractions; I also helped identify talents and resources necessary to complete the project and procure services; Finally, I acted as liaison for internal and external partners, licensors and intellectual property owners.
This showreel created by Pico International encompasses extremely well the extent of my contribution to this Award Winning Project (Best Kids Entertainment Centre, Time Out 2016), from show graphics development through to scenic treatment and props design and execution.
Here some fly throughs I art directed the making of.
